Herb Garden

When Iain came on Monday, we got busy on our herb garden. We've had the herbs in their plastic nursery pots for a while now and needed to get them officially planted. Our morning started out with the discovery of a bee walking on the cement. It was very exciting to watch him, from a respectful distance, of course.


We then headed over to the future home of the herb garden. Iain and Josephine began by posing, tools in hand, for a photo together.


Do they remind you of American Gothic? Just a little younger and a little less somber, eh?

So, we began by filling up a pot with dirt.

Josephine then gently placed in the oregano and patted dirt around its roots.

She then, of course, hugged it and told it she would take care of it.

We next filled another pot with dirt, this time for chive seeds.

Iain helped out to put a stone at the bottom of the next pot.

This one got a sage plant.

Last, but not least, we planted parsley.

Finally, the pièce de résistance was finding a home for the wonderful little frog decoration Iain gave me. And . . . voilà!

So here is the completed herb garden, with its parsley, oregano, soon-to-be chives, sage, mint, and rosemary.

I then planted the yellow daisy bushes that have also been sitting around in their pots for about as long as the herbs had.
