Witches' Brooms

Today we made witches' brooms out of brown paper lunch bags, sticks, newspapers, rocks, and string. It would have been a very difficult project had it not been for the handy household paper shredder.

Here is Josephine balling up a sheet of newspaper to stuff the broom.

Once the bag is stuffed, a few rocks are thrown in for weight, a stick is stuck inside, and another bag, this time shredded, is placed around the first bag.

Then the two bags are tied together very tightly.
